Brain Twisting Every VDay

It’s Valentines Day again… Time to twist this brain and try hard to be creative. Valentines Day is so special to us that no matter how simple we celebrate it, we always make sure it’ turns out to be as special and worth remembering.

Will it be something usual? A valentine mug, huge card, boys clothes with naughty lines? Or a romantic candle-lit dinner at home or somewhere more special?

For someone like me who’s poor at surprises, I find it a bit frustrating that no matter how much effort I exert in thinking about it and making it happen, still it turns out ordinary. Well, I guess it’s because I have the best husband in the world who’s such an expert when it comes to surprises. I can never match his creativity and well, spell E-F-F-O-R-T!!! All I can do is to appreciate and be grateful for the fact that I am that special girl who always gets to enjoy it.

It’s the Thought that Counts!

Special occasions are present whole year round. There are common for eveyone, and there are personal for each one. In those special occasions, we may celebrate it with lots of people, while in some, we celebrate it with only the most special persons in our lives. Either way, it’s always nice that we let them know we remember.

I will forever attest to the saying, “It’s the thought that counts.” Based on my own experiences – receiving a very expensive gift and a gift that’s not worth any penny doesn’t make me feel any different – they both make me feel INCREDIBLY SPECIAL!  The thought that someone’s willing to spend so much for me melts my heart away and for someone to exert the best effort without spending too much does just the same.

On Your Birthday, We Remember…

It’s not yet even the mid of October, but I feel like it’s already my birthday. Normally, I don’t get excited on my birthday, but this year I think I’m more thrilled about it and it seems as if this feeling will remain until my actual birthday. Oh, it’s less than a month from now, November 8 to be exact – I am having a month-long birthday fever!

I remember, it was year 2007 when I got the chance to see and explore the online world. I have no idea that it’ll soon be a part of my daily life and that it’s where my true friends are. I can no longer recall how exactly I got connected with them. I guess it became easy because we all are on the same shoes and that we all have common goal – we are mothers and mothers at heart and we want to be the best for our kids. It started in Friendster, then transferred to Multiply, until we reached Facebook. My online mommy friends just keeps on adding, though along the way, interests and characters clash, it’s still awesome that among the many, those who are true and genuine remain.

Who would have thought that friendship online will turn out to be friendship for life?
