Park and Pizza

Summer here seems to be very quick. It came in late and it went away early. Mr. sun rarely showed itself during the summer months and so we found it hard to enjoy the outside more. But good thing we were able to do our favorite summer activity even before it waved goodbye.

I guess every family’s favorite bonding place during hot weather is none other than, the park. It’s where both parents and kids can relax and at the same time, have some fun. Hubby and I just laid down on the grass, feeling the warmth of the sun and the coldness of the humid air, while our cheeky munchkin plays around and try everything the playground has to offer. At the park, children are the happiest and us too.
Then after a good summer heat, it’s time to cool off. We headed to the nearest Pizza Hut and there we found out that they have this special offer the whole summer time where Kids Eat Free! What a nice treat for our little princess! It would have been even better if we are already a family of four that time. We should have gotten 2 free kiddie meals!
Why? Because for every adult main course or adult lunchtime buffet purchased, an accompanying child can choose from either a FREE 2 course kids meal (includes a drink) or a FREE kids lunchtime buffet (includes pizza, pasta and salad). Alyssa so loves pizza so we opted for the latter. YUM!
And what more good news?!? Well, they are extending this offer up to the 9th of January 2011! How’s that? Oh, and not only that! On the bottom of any Pizza Hut Restaurant receipt you will find an offer code. Enter this code at http://www.pizzahut.co.uk/familyadventures to get great deals on a wide range of family activities and adventures including holidays, theme parks, zoos and more.

Overstock Coupon Codes and Other Ways to Save Money
Saving money is one of the most important parts of a family budget. Learning different ways to be frugal is important, especially if you are someone who typically spends money and then realizes later that you have no idea where your money went. Creating a household budget for your family to follow is a good way to get started. Simply list all the outgoing and incoming money you have each month. This way you know how much extra money you actually have to spend.
Coupons are a great way to save. Whether you clip coupons each week, or use codes like Overstock coupon codes to save online, using coupons on a regular basis will save you money. Try going to the grocery once per month, on double coupon day, to get the bulk of your family’s food. Of course, anything that will spoil, or that is consumed quickly, needs to be purchased on a weekly basis. Items like meat, paper products, frozen foods and box or canned goods can all be purchased in bulk, and once per month. Making simple changes like this to the way you grocery shop gives you the most bang for your buck, and also saves you time.
In addition to changing your grocery shopping habits, there are plenty of other ways your family can make adjustments to save money. Plant a garden in the spring and start canning. Make your own sauces and soups. Then can or freeze them to use throughout the winter. If your family doesn’t eat leftovers, take the leftovers, make sure they are properly sealed and freeze them. Then you can serve them at a later date, and your family won’t know the difference. Teach yourself and your children not to be wasteful. The more your family wastes, the more money you’re wasting as well.

GT: Now It’s About MY Money
We’re done talking about ourselves physically last week at GT, now let’s talk about the money. ![]()
I believe I am the poorest girl ever!
I am a fully financially dependent individual since birth. I haven’t tried working for myself ever since. I got married when I was a coming junior (2nd year college), that was when my parents got someone to share with my needs and wants in the presence of my hubby. They didn’t stop from there though and supported me financially until I graduate. When we transferred here in London 3 weeks after graduation, that was the time when my parents got free of me. Hooray! (they exclaimed!
) And the start of my hubby’s calvary. hahaha!!!
It’s only this January when I was given the chance to see the real beauty of the internet. I didn’t know that working from home and earning online is really possible until I am already experiencing it myself. But if you’ll ask if I am enjoying my earnings for myself, my answer is NO! I don’t see them as MY MONEY, whatever I earn goes directly to the family fund. Hubby never pertains to his income as HIS, it’s always OURS so I do just the same now that I am able to share somehow.
So here’s what happens: I work => earnings go to MY paypal =>everything is transferred to HUBBY’s paypal => everything is transferred to OUR dollar account
I get all online expenses from there though, like my hosting and domain purchases and extras like gifts and donations. All other things like my clothes, accessories and all comes from hubby. He also takes good care of all remittances to both our families in the Philippines. Lucky me!
With that process, I’m happy to see that my online earnings are still intact and it goes directly to our dollar savings. I’m not earning a lot yet, but I believe that’s so much better than not earning anything at all. ![]()
