The Making of Harry Potter

Booking opens on October 13, 2011, for this new attraction opening on March 31, 2012. The 150,000 square foot area includes two dedicated soundstages where the blockbuster film series was filmed over ten years, and visitors can walk through the sets that appeared on screen including the Great Hall, Dumbledore’s office, the Gryffindor common room and Hagrid’s hut. Costumes and props will also be on show, and guests can see animatronics in a ‘creature effects’ workshop that reveals the technology behind ‘Harry Potter’ beasts such as Buckbeak the Hippogriff, Fawkes the phoenix and the giant Basilisk head. The studio is located in Watford (London trains run from Euston), and buses will take visitors from Watford Junction Station to the venue; booking is essential.

Time to bond, Time to relax

Parenthood may be a serious business but it is also a lot of fun. In our very busy lives, family time may suffer. No job is more demanding than parenthood. Sometimes we are so caught up with our roles as parents that we forget about play. So it is always nice for parents and their children to spend more time together.

The world is huge outside our usual surroundings. Travelling as a family help create amazing memories. Besides, travel is a good teacher. We can learn about the place, the people, their culture and even about ourselves when we go on the road. So take the time to relax and bond with your children. A change of scenery, especially one that is relaxing can improve family relations. With all these being said, I just might give in to dad’s request, that is to get an xbox live subscription.

CC: Why Bad Habits are Hard to Break

One of my really bad habits is the “manyana habit”, as what we, Filipinos call it. Whatever I need to do, I always say, “mamaya na” (later)… I don’t know but I’m just so good at cramming. No matter how many tasks I need to finish, I can finish them all with flying colors when I cram.

Just like in my everyday life – I know I have lots of house chores to do, but instead of doing them early, I get my laptop and do my online thingy (facebook and blogging) until an hour before hubby arrives. In that 1 hour, I will squeeze in everything – tidy up the whole house, wash the dishes, hang up and fold clothes, etc. This is what you call internet addiction! and I have so much more bad habit… just can’t enumerate them all. ;)

So why are bad habits hard to break? I think, because we know that at the end of the day, we still can accomplish things even with that bad habit (just like in my case) or simply because we are already used to it, that’s why it’s called HABIT. ;)
